Crab, spider and conch

Hermit Crab

Golden silk spider

Sunday it may have been but the work continues.  We took the No 10 marker back to the Haulover Trail and walked to the end clearing a bit more of the vegetation.  It was quite quiet in terms of wildlife but we did meet a Hermit Crab and disturbed a large Golden Silk Spider.

The upsidedown conch

Further down the island, at its easterly limit, we spent time on the beach with a pelican for company as it hunted in the shallow waters nearby.  Then we met the Conch.  It didn’t take kindly to being put upsidedown but soon flicked itself the right way up again.  Click here to see a video of the conch righting itself.
