Matfen Meadow

Columbine

Cranesbill

I (Sally) cycled to Matfen for the paper this morning but got the opening times wrong so had an hour to kill.  I cycled an extra few miles and then spent a little while exploring the meadow on the green to see how it was coming on.  It appears to be very grassy at first glance but is quite diverse when you take a closer look.  No sign of Yellow Rattle which was seeded into the meadow last year.

Lovely pictures. I need your help to get good close-ups of flowers – see my abject failure to photograph about a million bees on my lavender yesterday – http://vivinfrance.wordpress.com/2011/07/03/i-saw-sunday-part-ii/
