Good Solar Day

It was our best day so far on the solar panels.  With a day of unbroken sunshine it was, at last, a chance to see what might be produced in ideal conditions.  Almost 18kW were produced, 2kW more than the previous best.  We are unlikely to better this but hopefully will get a few more long sunny days over the summer that can get somewhere close.

How many years to amortise the cost, I wonder. Just joking – I’m really green with jealousy.

It will take quite a while. If all days were like yesterday then 3 years should do it but sadly most days are not so bright and sunny. Todays output was 12kW but we need to average 6-7kW through the year and it will be about 9 years. It may be a little quicker as the calculations do not account for how much less electricity we buy in.
